New Barn Stud

We are New Barn Stud, a small, independently run family stud based in Oxfordshire. We support every stage of the stud journey, from collecting semen from the stallion through to inseminating the mare—working closely in partnership with Equine Veterinary and Reproduction—and right through to foaling down.

At the heart of everything we do is a respect for the horse’s natural instincts and wellbeing. We believe mares should be allowed to foal down with as little interference as possible, creating a calm, natural environment where they can follow their own rhythms. By taking this approach, we support both mare and foal in experiencing a more relaxed and instinctive start. This carries through into every aspect of our care, including grooming. We are passionate about using natural products that work in harmony with the horse, rather than against it. Our stallion, Don Dante, who has particularly sensitive skin, does not tolerate harsh chemicals—but thrives with gentle, natural alternatives. The result is not only healthier skin, but a coat that truly shines, enhanced by the horse’s own natural oils.
